Looking for a rewarding experience helping other runners achieve their goals?
 
The Beyond Half Marathon Training Program is now taking applications for 2019 Team Leader positions.
 

Team Leaders assist in providing a well-developed, high value training program that is supportive of Kalamazoo Area Runners’ mission.  Team Leaders are expected to be on time, positive, able to navigate the social aspects of the group, and make sure everyone feels included.   To apply, Team Leaders must have completed at least one prior half marathon.  The deadline to apply for a Beyond Half Marathon Team Leader Position has past.

If you are a Team Leader, you will be asked to fulfill the following expectations:
  • Smile and have fun!  Promote a team spirit, build camaraderie, and ensure all team members are connected
  • Attend the Beyond in BC Blast Off and Orientation Night on Thursday,
    March 28, 2019     at 6:00PM
  • Attend a separate Team Leader training session prior to Blast Off program start  (Time, Date, and Location TBD)
  • Runs within assigned pace range, and slows pace as appropriate when conditions are unfavorable
  • Be available most Saturdays and coordinate with co-team leaders and co-directors on absences (Pace Leaders should be available a minimum of 9 of the 12 sessions)
  • Cover sag (bike or vehicle depending on course) and hydration for 1 of 9 Saturdays (will not run during SAG week) (Cost of hydration is covered by KAR)
  • Exemplifies and ensures safe running practices
  • Arrive 30 minutes before the run starts
  • Attend and encourage your team members to attend Clinic Night on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 5:45-8:00PM at Harper Creek High School
  • Send out a weekly email by Thursday of each week to your group
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

  • FREE Beyond short sleeve team leader technical shirt
  • Discount off our target race, the Battle Creek Half Marathon on July 6, 2019
  • A rewarding experience helping team members achieve their half marathon goals

  • Beyond Clinic Night: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Harper Creek High School
  • Program start: Saturday, April 1, 2019
  • Program end: Saturday, June 29, 2019
